Lies Of A Murderer - Bodies Of Water EP
So like, I'm in a metalcore band with some friends and we did this demo in like two takes each and it's really cute. Stay Rasta.

The Saddest Landscape & We Were Skeletons
Don't feel much has to be said, everyone knows TSL and WWS at this point. It's a great listen for real. I really like the album art... and I cropped it to 420x420 pixels.

Various Artists - The Machines (1990 - 1993)
I'm really lazy and slow when it comes to wanting to upload something for other people to hear, more or less I have given up on blogging because I figure everyone else does it and does it better than me! I should have just given up on this a long time ago and let Mappy deal with it. Anyways, enough of the shit I just posted, you probably didn't even realize that there are two dudes using this blog anyways. Onto the post:
This is such a good fucking documentation of independent music in the early 90's, lots of East Coast in this. Simple Machines did a 6 EP thing documenting stuff they felt was not going to be welcomed on other labels. The end result were some of the best EP's ever put out, the end result of that was this really amazing compilation. A little bit of Emo, a lot of indie, anthems, Jenny Toomey. Here's the tracklist:
For more info you can scope it out on the Simple Machines site.

Salt The Wound - Kill The Crown
Salt The Wound has always been a band that was slightly ahead of the ("deathcore") pack, but a bit too cliche to listen to regularly. Then Ares came out, and they really showed their ability, except Kevin (vox) started doing this really bad attempt at brocore vocals, where his voice just fucking cracked embarrassingly every .5 seconds. Anyway, this album is like Ares, but with heavy Darkest Hour influence, no brocals, and minimal brees. Very catchy, you're moshin.

The Drago Miette - A Slow Summer Drowning
Stole this link from Noisecorporation (didn't want to reupload it, what's the point...). The Drago Miette contained members of Usurp Synapse, that might be enough to entice you to walk this starch dark realm of misery and anger. Really essential hardcore, slam your head on your keyboard.

Also MIA from Caitlyn Bailey...
Is in Japan and she's asking for donations to help out over there. CLICK. They have their shit on check over there, it's literally amazing to see a people respond kindly to one another in time of crisis (IE: NO LOOTING). Also if you can't help by donating then spread the message, if you don't want to help then don't. I realize that a lot of us have a lot of shit to worry about so it's no problem.

Tentacles - isolation is a gift
A really great band from Texas, and yes you thought Texas emo was dead (or not! For Want Of), well it's not! Tentacles is pretty dark, really loud sometimes, has dark buildups. Feels like your suffocating and enjoying the ghastly images that are clotting your brain. Aside from sounding like how a funeral makes you feel, Tentacles is... Well not a lot more than just what they are, a dark emo band, Usurp Synapse, The Drago Miette, etc etc. You can freely download their songs one by one off their bandcamp page or go to one of their shows and get a freebie cdr.

P.S. Thank GOD for bandcamp, totally the next hxcmp3.com. Also I'm too lazy to upload anything so this is really neat. I know, I know, some people are like 'fuck bandcamp make an actual release!' but in all hearts honesty do you really care if you're going to download the album anyways?
Håp - Demo 2011
Screamy hardcore band from Stavanger, Norway. A little more in the modern screamo category, shouty with neat guitars. Kind of reminds me of La Quiete. This short little four song demo will rest well in your computers harddrive for a quick listen from time to time. Also for those of you not in the know (which did include me, until there was some help on the cmhwak forums) it's pronounced haup. :)

Quartier Rouge - Les Années Lumières
Again another band on the Throatruiner Records roster. This time it's very dark sludgy metal...? Really in the vein of Daughters' last two albums but with a more mysterious edge to it. It could be that I don't understand what the singer is howling about, but more or less I dig it and I figure a few of you would too. You can download this on their bandcamp page and buy it on bigcartel (on sale/euros).

The Phantom Carriage - New Thing
Well I haven't been on here in a while, mainly because I've been busy with school and there has been nothing that has interested me enough to post it on here. There's a few things though.
Anyways, I was lurking the CMHWAK forums and ran across a few bands that I dug. First off here's The Phantom Carriage. They have been described as a mix of Emo (of the chaotic vein) and black metal. The marriage of the two works pretty good, I mean I'm not the biggest black metal aficionado and don't want to be but if what people are saying is true then this band mixes the sounds really well. A little relentless and often times very angry and throaty. Not screechy. You can get New Thing on bandcamp, or purchase the preorder on throatruiner records' bigcartel page.

The Planning Fallacy - Tides EP (repost)
Twice the album art cause the pic is so small.
Anyway, rapidshare deleted this, so mediafire woo. The quality is shitty (128) but whatever, it's all I could find. These guys were awesome... one of those bands that I listened to repeatedly in for hours in high school, one of the bands that made me start singing. I've been listening to it on repeat again lately, since I found it.
Very spacy "post hardcore" with really great singing and weak but enjoyable screams. The instrumental aspects of this band are about as chill as Jonny Craig on DBM2.

P.S. Karl Marx And Friends part 2: Casterbation, get pumped.

Manners - Apparitions
I'm very on the fence about this release. Admittedly, I haven't listened to it very heavily... sometimes it clicks, other times neh. Right now I'm feeling it hard though, pretty cool moshy hardcore with a good contrast of melodic riffs.

Monarcs - Apocalyptic Bebop
Mad noodly, forgot about this. It's kind of like a more balls out Daniel Striped Tiger. Florida, figures.

This is Terzij de Horde's first release. Name is hilarious, but I'm glad they changed it haha.

P.S. that's not album art, it's the best shirt design ever.
