This is definitely one of my favorite albums to have come out last year, don't know why I didn't post it on here sooner, I'll just attribute it to what I just referred to as "lazy blogging." Great great great atmospheric screamo stuff. Awesome vocals, awesome lyrics. The vocals kind of remind me of a more dynamic As Cities Burn.

The Skramz Weekend is over
And although I may still upload more of da best sounds from the underground, let's just let me apologize for something, right now. I'm sorry for using the words Emo Violence, Screamo, Skramz, Kitten Violence, Kitten Core, Synth_Skramz, Skram Commander, The Skreamies, Boss Skram, etc etc so on and so forth. They are my favorite words though.

Shimmering Glasskite - Call Her Back Before She Decides To Open the Downstairs Closet and Finds Her Dead Boyfriend Wearing Your Favorite Shirt
This is when me and Mappy (the other fine man in this blog) attempted to be what I like to call 'Nuclear Screamos', we were really aiming for the future. Half way dance-like, wholeheartedly noisy; Shimmering Glasskite was all about dying young and pretending that we were a boy/girl synthskramz duel force attack. Mappy (the boy) was in charge of blistering vocals, that actually sound really good; and I (the girl) was in charge of making really loud noises and a beat that stood out its own. Eventually both his vocals and my music/noise blended so damn well that I'm actually really proud to say I made it. Haters galore appeared out of nowhere though, and our synthskramz was forever blackened into the unknown. There are at least five songs that were made and all were uploaded onto myspace, but if they are ever actually to be released is another story. At first this was made to be sold as a pure ultra violent noise machine CDR on VLV or on EBAY or somewhere somehow, but Matt| from CMHWAK never delivered on his end. :c.

About Depth - Patriots Demo
This is my release as a one man hyper kitten violence outfit, i dubbed it About Depth for some reason. I tried to make some skramz occur and I got what I asked for but no one wanted to play drums/bass so I just recorded this on my own and called it a day. It's really short, maybe barely 6 minutes with six songs. Lyrics are basically supposed to be satanic, not about murdering or anything stupid like that, but about worshiping satan or some other evil thing. Should probably be treated as a really pathetic noise project. If you're going to hell you might as well make a lot of noise about it.

Vincent Price's Orphan Powered Death Machine - Discography
XVPOPDMX: This is so loud and obnoxious, okay, it's not really obnoxious but it's still loud. Heavy and metallic screamo taking cues from bands with two vocalists and insane screaming, shouts and shrieks galore; at times like Usurp Synapse. For some reason, it could be that Vincent Price is in the band name, but this is at times really haunting in a way, I cannot explain it to any degree. When you get this, and try to extract, it won't let you get a few of the songs because of their long file names, but in order to remedy that all you have to do is open the .zip file and find the songs that need changing and rename them, but keeping the .mp3 at the end or else you'll end up with some worthless file. Also includes the split with The Clancy Six, who rip their throats to rags. It has all of their songs, according to the labels website and I think the quality goes from 128, to 196, to 320 and then back 128 as each song changes... which is good to know if you care about that stuff, I just thought it was weird.

The Blood Brothers - March on Electric Children
When this first came out, there was nothing sassier or scarier. I'm sure a bunch of lardo's figured this band was headed by some chick and her gay friends, and about most of the time they are right, but this time they were wrong. While the two singers from this band performed as though they were David Bowie X 3242343 with more Diva in them than Whitney Houston, they're not girls. At least not yet. So spastic, so fast, at times provocative and (I believe what set them apart) so damn catchy. Rue Morgue, After School Knife Fight and ILM probably would've hit the same level if they ever got the attention of bigger labels.

Part II - Weeping, Wailing And Gnashing Of Teeth
An outrageously good 10" with the same sound that Ache:Emelie, Portrait and You And I deliver. A total large part of this comes from the same vein of hardcore tapestry that bands like Taking Back Sunday, Thursday and Part Of Helicopters are woven from (essentially the same hardcore that most bands come from). Complete with double bass pedals and multiple singers screaming/singing at the same time and every so often a breakdown. Pretty standard music that does sound a lot like You and I, they are from New York and are from around the same time though so it all does make sense. I highly recommend it.

Cerberus Shoal - Cerberus Shoal LP
One of the more celebrated, yet still hardly talked about, bands/albums to have thrived from 1993 on. While later albums dictate the sound of future post rock and experimentation, their first venture on vinyl is a total emo odyssey, with furious build ups that last minutes and repetitive lyrics/instruments. Everything repeats itself at least once, it seems. The first and last song have the same name and are not part 1 or part 2, it is okay to be confused by that at first. This is a pretty good rip, but it seems like the record itself was wobbly a bit, but I guess for those truly emo that just adds to the listening experience. I don't really want to say it but I do see you druggies digging this one in a lot, I know I did; It's as though you are in a blanket of soft melody and your heartstrings are being plucked softly and then out of nowhere you're on a roller coaster heading towards Godzilla's dick.

Clancy Six - Self-Titled, One-Sided 7"
Really intense, scathing and motivated emo violence. Not as well known as their label mate contemporaries (Dot Flash Line/Vincent Price's Orphan Powered Death Machine). They have done splits with The New Flesh, Exosus, Vincent Prices Orphan Powered Death Machine, Kojak, Charm City Suicides and Pcp Roadblock. They had been active since 1998 and broke up in 2005.

*downloaded from the source (label) one song is 192 and the other is 320 (weird).
Kobra Khan - A Retrospective Of Frantic And Spastic Melody
This is my Skramz weekend (Emo Violence, Screamo, Skreamies, Kitten Violence, Kitten Core, etc etc) and it's been ruling frantically at best. Anyways, this is pre Tristan Tzara and just like Tristan Tzara you get some really fast paced, uber violent styled hardcore with shrieking and at times talking vocals. To my knowledge this has every song. In my opinion Tristan Tzara was better, but this stays on its own in various ways; it's a lot heavier and uses more sound clips, less jangly parts and more brutal chugging. For a band that stayed together for a short amount of time, they put out a lot of material. 1999 - 2001.

John Brown Batter - Is Jinxed
I don't know what to say for most of these posts so let me just do something up really quick. If you are evidently in any way a fan of turn of the century indie hardcore, softer sounding emo and hot water music/jawbreaeker, then this is one of those bands that you'll adore. Said to sound like Small Brown Bike (and with a similar name), but I don't know because I've never listened to Small Brown Bike. If anyone can confirm then please let me know, then maybe eventually I will listen to Small Brown Bike. Reminds me of The Kossabone Red on their Ignition 7" and some mall punk to a great degree, but it's neither at all.

Cease Upon The Capitol - The End Of History
Mappy put the other album on here, or it might be the same one, either way this band is another band that's new to me. Never have I wanted to listen to this band ever, until now. Anyways, yeah it's pretty good. Jumps around musically with some pretty solid riffs and screams, drumming seems to be spot on. Nothing to complain here :V.
